Water conditioning, sized off a real test

High-efficiency softeners, iron filters and acid neutralizers, chosen from a free water quality test rather than a guess. We sell and service Addie Water Systems, backed by a one-year workmanship warranty.

Chapter 01

What this valley's water does to a house

Most of what we treat here does not break a system outright, it wears on it quietly. Hardness scales the inside of a heat exchanger and shortens the working life of a water heater the same way it builds up in a kettle. Iron stains everything it touches: fixtures, laundry, the inside of a toilet tank, all of it turning the same rust orange over time. Low pH is the slowest of the three and the most expensive to ignore, eating at copper piping from the inside until the joints themselves turn blue-green.

None of the three announce themselves the day they start. They show up months later as a stain, a shortened water heater, or a pinhole leak in a pipe that should have had years left in it.

The free test decides the equipment, not the salesman

Water quality testing is free, and it is what actually decides what goes in, not a sales pitch. Hardness, iron and pH each point toward a different machine, and putting in the wrong one is money spent on a problem the house does not have.

Iron matters here in particular because it fouls a plain softener resin bed if it is left to run through one. That is the reason an iron filter goes ahead of the softener rather than being treated as an optional extra: it protects the equipment behind it as much as it fixes the staining in front of it.

Chapter 03

Softener, iron filter, acid neutralizer

In a real utility room the three stack in a fixed order: iron filter first where iron is present, softener next to pull the hardness, acid neutralizer last to correct pH before the water reaches the rest of the house. Each one solves a different test result, and a house rarely needs all three at full strength, the test tells us which ones actually apply.

We sell and service the Addie Water Systems line for all of it, sized to what the test found rather than to a standard package.

Salt, service and the warranty

Aftercare is mostly salt and regeneration on a softener, and knowing when a resin bed has finally worn out rather than just needing a recharge. Every system we install carries a one-year workmanship warranty, on top of whatever the manufacturer covers.

The same shop that sets up the water conditioning plumbs the rest of the house, so if something else needs attention while we are there, it is one call instead of a second contractor.

How it stacks

The order the equipment goes in

  1. Softener

Takes hardness out first, ahead of anything downstream.

  2. Iron filters

Goes ahead of a softener where iron is present, since iron fouls a plain softener resin bed.

  3. Acid neutralizers

Raises low pH so copper piping stops corroding from the inside.
